Satan Takes Joy In Our Discouragement

| |

teenaged youth - discouragedRecently I have seen many of my friends and co-workers in the ministry fall to the ever so common tool of Satan which is discouragement. I myself have been a victim of being discouraged about things that happen in life like finances, family issues, friends and ministry let downs. Satan preys on our human nature to be discouraged very easily, he will throw every obstacle he can in our path to keep us from serving God and doing what He wants us to do. So what does God say about discouragement?

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12).

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (I Peter 5:8).

“Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”(James 4:7&8).

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:10).

Listen to what God has to say to you:

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9).

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9)

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalms 31:24)

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised” (Hebrews 10:23)

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” (Psalms 55:22)

“Casting ALL your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7)

”Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant…Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of his might.”
(
Ephesians 6:10)
Finally, PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD (Ephesians 6:10-18).

The next time you feel discouraged, remember these verses from the Bible and don't let Satan win the victory by seeing you down in the dumps. Instead of publicly letting the world know you are discouraged, ask a brother or sister in Christ to pray with you. There are too many people out there on the web that you may think is your friend but they may be taking joy in the fact that you are down and discouraged. So just remember, Christ loves you and cares about you, and He is your friend. He will be there for you.

God Bless
